Fullerton, CA (September 19th, 2022) – The Cal South Soccer Foundation was established in 1999 to serve as a collaborative resource across the broader Southern California region to grow the game of soccer. Today, the Foundation relaunches its efforts to build meaningful relationships in the community and reduce barriers to soccer opportunities for families in Southern California.
Throughout its history, the Foundation created an impact in the soccer community thanks to visionary leadership, support from Cal South Youth Soccer Association, and strong Community Partners. This support allowed the Foundation the opportunity to provide over $600,000 in grants to communities within Cal South’s boundaries, from San Diego to San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield leading to an estimated $10 million of impact.
The landscape of Soccer is ever-changing and to address the needs of the Community the Cal South Soccer Foundation will focus on three primary pillars: Field Development, Soccer Programs, and Community-Based Grants.
In working with Partners, Community Members, and Stakeholders the Foundation will support Field Development through Mini-Pitch projects in Southern California to create additional play spaces for communities and kids. In addition, Foundation will aid Community-based Soccer Programs to increase access for kids to participate in Soccer and promote specific Grants to reach the Foundation’s vision: that every kid, family, and community in Southern California have equitable access and opportunity to Soccer.
