The United States Men’s National Team will call Great Park in Irvine home during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with U.S. Soccer confirming the Southern California venue as its official training base camp ahead of the tournament.

The team is set to arrive in Irvine following its June 6 friendly against Germany. The location offers a practical base for the group-stage schedule, including matches at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on June 12 against Paraguay and again on June 25 against an opponent still to be determined. The USMNT’s other group-stage match is scheduled for June 19 in Seattle against Australia.

U.S. Soccer Sporting Director Matt Crocker praised the site, noting that the facilities provide the kind of elite training environment the team needs heading into the world’s biggest stage. Great Park Championship Soccer Stadium, built on the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro site, seats more than 5,000 spectators and sits within a much larger park complex that includes sports fields, trails, and family-friendly public amenities.

The announcement also included a community component. Through the Soccer Forward Foundation, U.S. Soccer will partner with the City of Irvine and local organizations on coaching development programming in April, aiming to create long-term impact beyond the tournament itself.
