For the first time, Cal South is teaming up with the UPSL in 2025 to present the inaugural Women’s Adult Open State Cup!
The Cal South Adult Open State Cup, co-hosted by the UPSL, will feature a Women’s Open division where the best female soccer teams from across California will compete for a chance to win a $2,000 grand prize and the title of State Champion!
The tournament will begin on the weekend of February 22-23 and culminate in a final to be played on the weekend of April 12-13, 2025. (Dates subject to change.)

Tournament Dates: Feb. 22/23 – April 12/13, 2025
- Game #1 Weekend: Feb. 22-23 [Locations TBA]
- Game #2 Weekend: Mar. 1-2 [Locations TBA]
- Game #3 Weekend: Mar. 22-23 [Locations TBA]
- Semifinals: Apr. 5-6 [Location TBA]
- Final: Apr. 12 or 13 [Location: TBA]
Format:
- 24 Teams
- Group Stage: 8 groups of 3 teams each. Teams are guaranteed one home and one away match in the group stage. Home team is responsible for providing field.
- Knockout Stage: Winners of each group – Ties after 90 minutes go straight to penalty kicks.
Registration Details:
- Entry Deadline: January 24, 2025
- Prize Money: Women’s Open Champion – $2,000
- Entry Fee: $300 per team + 3% credit card processing fee
- Player Registration Fee:
- $10/player registration for non-UPSL Teams
- UPSL players to use their 2025 UPSL registration
- Referees: Payment split by teams except for semis and final
