Coaching License Pathway

Whether you already hold a Cal South Coaching License or a United States Soccer Federation National Coaching License, every Cal South coach must meet the requirements of the Coaching Education Department as described on the License Levels Overview.

All current U.S. Soccer National “E” and “D” License holders will still be allowed to coach their appropriate recreational (Community) teams.

Current “E” License holders must complete the following to register for a National “D” License

  • Create a coaching profile in the US Soccer Digital Coaching Center
  • Complete the US Soccer Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module
  • Register for the National US Soccer National “D” License on the DCC

To show you how everything breaks down, here is a chart featuring the accepted progression of license levels in coaching education:

All Grassroots Pathway Courses will be taught by Certified US Soccer National Instructors at the State level. All A & B License Courses are scheduled and taught by US Soccer.
