Mayors Division

Mayors

Youngers: 8U–14U

Cal South's entry point into State Cup competition, open to Youngers age groups only. A great fit for teams new to bracket play or building toward the higher divisions.

Governors Division

Governors

Olders: 15U–17U

A mid-tier competitive division for Olders age groups, sitting between the Mayors and Presidents divisions on the Play Level Guide.

Youngers: 9U–14U  |  Olders: 15U–18U/19U

Cal South's top State Cup division, spanning both Youngers and Olders age groups for the most competitive teams in each bracket.

Petition to Play Down

Teams are allowed to petition to play down one level in Cal South State Cup. Apply to the correct division based on the Play Level Guide, then email your petition to Anthony Morales. Teams are approved to play down if their winning record is 25% or less (based on wins, losses, and ties).

  • The Mayors Division has been established to give new competitive teams a chance to play and compete for a statewide championship against other startup teams and similar level competitive programs.
  • There is no further competition outside of Southern California for the Mayors Division.

  • The Presidents Division is for advanced level competitive teams looking to compete in a state championship competition.
  • The 2026 Cal South State Cup Presidents Divisions Champions in the 13U through 18U/19U age groups advance to compete at the US Youth Soccer Far West Presidents Cup.
  • The 2026 US Youth Soccer Far West Presidents Cup Champions in 13U through 18U/19U advance to compete in the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup.

State Cup matches are hosted at multiple fields in Southern California including Silverlakes Sports Park and San Bernardino Soccer Complax. Field assignments are published with each round's schedule.
