LA Strikers fall short at USASA National Amateur Cup Semifinal

Fullerton, CA (August 9, 2022) –In June, Cal South adult soccer squad, LA Strikers, won the Cal South 2022 Adult State Cup and advanced to the USASA 2022 National Amateur Cup that was held last weekend in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Their journey began in June at the San Bernardino Soccer Complex. LA Strikers advanced and played MesoAmerica in the Men’s Open division final. After a 1-1 regulation, they defeated MesoAmerica 5-4 in penalty kicks to capture their first Cal South Adult State Cup final and send themselves to the USASA regional competition.

LA Strikers then traveled to Colorado at the end of June to play in the regional championship. In their match, they defeated Peak XI FC to win the United States Adult Soccer Association Region IV Amateur Cup title in the Men’s Open Division to secure their pass to the USASA 2022 National Amateur Cup. The Strikers topped Peak XI 3-1.

Unfortunately, last weekend, The Strikers lost in the semifinals of the USASA 2022 National Amateur Cup 2-0 Vs Bavarian United.

At cal south we are proud of them and we are happy to see that adult soccer in Southern California continues to grow and pay off.

See you next season.
