FRISCO, TX (Monday, August 19, 2024) – Cal South’s PRO+ Olympic Development Program (ODP) saw 46 of its talented players selected recently to rosters for the West Region for this year’s US Youth Soccer ODP Interregional teams.

The announcement on US Youth Soccer’s website last Friday, August 16 was in regard to boys and girls selected from the 14 western state associations ODP training pools in the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 groups. Because of the larger numbers of players chosen in the 2011 and 2012 age groups, players were split into Olders and Youngers divisions.

In all, fourteen boys from Cal South’s ODP pools were selected across the eight age groups, while over double that number – 32 overall – were chosen from Cal South’s girls’ pools. The West Regional teams will next play against the other three regional teams (East, Midwest, South) at the US Youth Soccer ODP Interregionals later this winter (dates yet to be announced).

“We are incredibly proud to have such great representation on the West Regional team with these extremely talented players,” said Michael Chin, Cal South Director of Coaching Education and Player Development. “The 46 selected boys and girls are a testament to the outstanding development and environments that Cal South ODP and the clubs within southern California create at a very high and consistent standard.”
