Wichita, KS (Tuesday, July 16, 2024) – Cal South’s Unico FC Black captured the Boys 13U title this morning at the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup. The tournament took place July 12-16, 2024 at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas.
Unico’s 7:30 a.m. CT face off against the Hulmeville SC Demons of Eastern Pennsylvania ended in yet another shutout by Unico, 2-0. In five games during the National Presidents Cup, Unico only gave up a single goal, spinning four shutouts over the competition.
Unico previously shut out Hulmeville, 2-0 in the opening match of Bracket Play last Friday, July 12. On Monday morning, Unico won their Boys 13U semifinal match with a 1-0 shutout against Illinois’ Harvard FC to move into Tuesday’s finals round.
Closing out Bracket Play, Unico defeated North Texas’ Chelsea East 11B Barrios squad, 2-1 Sunday evening to land atop the Boys 13U Bracket A with a perfect 3-0 record and 9 points. Cal South’s other team at the event – Girls 15U La Quinta FC – did not advance to the semis in their age group after the opening three days of Bracket Play.
