US Soccer Grassroots 11v11 In-Person License (Blended Course)

Dates: March 12 – March 14, 2026
Location: San Ysidro | Larsen Field
Required For: All Cal South Competitive Coaches

The 11v11 In-Person License is a mandatory four-hour blended course for Cal South competitive coaches. This course builds on U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module and focuses on:

• U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy
• Play-Practice-Play Methodology
• The Tasks of a Coach
• Characteristics of players aged 13+

The course includes:

• 2 hours classroom learning (March 12 | 7:00–9:00 PM)
• 2 hours in-person field session (March 14 | 8:00–10:00 AM at Larsen Field)

Coaches must attend both components to receive the license.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Must complete the free 20-minute U.S. Soccer Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module prior to registration
• All required assignments must be submitted by the deadline

Additional Requirements

• Completion of SafeSport and Safe & Healthy Playing Environments modules
• Participation in classroom discussion (camera access required if virtual)
• Bring notepad and pen

Coaches are encouraged to bring grassroots players to assist with the field session. Please notify your educator via the course Communication tab if bringing players.
