Soccer for Southern California
Cal South is the official youth and adult soccer association of the United States Soccer Federation for Southern California. We govern, train, and run the game in the region — from a first recreational match to the national pathway.
We license and support coaches and referees, sanction and run tournaments and leagues, provide tools to clubs and registrars, and set the standards for safe, respectful play.
Zero tolerance. Abuse, assault and racism have no place in the game — at any level, for any participant.
The Respect Campaign: Everyone’s Part
Everyone in the game shares responsibility for respect. Here is what the gameday standards ask of each group.
Referees
Wear the “Respect” armband, enforce zero tolerance, report abuse, be proactive with pregame conferences and communication, and keep the match safe and fair.
Clubs & teams
Share the standards with coaches, players and parents; keep spectators clear of the assistant referees and goals; appoint a sideline monitor; and protect youth referees.
Spectators & parents
Talk with players about respect, avoid harassing comments, accept that mistakes happen, and report misconduct.
Leagues & tournaments
Share the directive, enforce spectator placement, make sure referees wear armbands, require pregame conferences, and sanction bad behavior.
