Cal South – US Soccer “D” Course Van Nuys

U.S. Soccer National D License – Hosted by Cal South

The U.S. Soccer National D License is a blended online and in-person course that combines
online learning modules, assignments, small group meetings, independent learning, and in-person sessions.

Course Fee: $550

Course Dates: February 11, 2026 – April 8, 2026

Course Duration: 9 Weeks (including summative assessment) with 4 in-person days

Eligibility Requirements (must meet ONE option below):

• Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
• Two (2) Different Grassroots In-Person Licenses (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)
• One (1) Grassroots Online License (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)

OR

• Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
• Previously Earned U.S. Soccer E License

OR

• Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
• Previously Earned U.S. Soccer F License
• Two (2) Grassroots In-Person Licenses (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)

Additional Requirement: Coaches must have access to a team (U7–U12) for the duration of the course.

Course Experience: 55+ hours (virtual + in-person)

Weekly learning opportunities include online modules, live virtual meetings, and four in-person sessions led by a
licensed U.S. Soccer Educator. Coaches must have internet access and a device with camera capabilities and should
be prepared to actively participate.

Assessment Areas:

• Leadership and Managing the Environment
• Coaching Games
• Coaching Training Sessions

Summative Assessment (Final Projects):

• Design one (1) training session plan (three activities)
• Coach one (1) training session (30 minutes of uninterrupted video)

Course Outcome: Upon successful completion, coaches receive the U.S. Soccer D License.
