U.S. Soccer Grassroots 11v11 In-Person License

Mandatory for all Cal South Competitive Coaches

The 11v11 In-Person Course is a four-hour course that builds on the principles covered in
U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module. Coaches will learn more about
U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology,
the Tasks of a Coach, and characteristics of players aged 13 and older.

The course includes 2 hours of classroom-based learning followed by
2 hours of on-field coaching/observation. Coaches must attend both components.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Completed U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module (free, ~20 minutes)

Assignment Requirements (must be completed by deadline):

• Page of Experience (completed after field session)
• Introduction to Safe & Healthy Playing Environments
• SafeSport

Course Length: 4 hours total (2 hours classroom, 2 hours field)

Coaches should bring a notepad and pen and be prepared to actively participate.
Coaches may participate in the field component as coaches or players.
