Cal State LA’s Michael Erush is our guest this week on Cal South’s “The Bear & the Ball” podcast

Michael Erush is the Men’s Head Coach for the Cal State LA Golden Eagles and the Boys’ Varsity Head Coach at Harvard-Westlake School. He saw time with the Colorado Rapids, Chivas USA, and Miami FC, as well as stints with clubs overseas during his professional playing career.

His journey toward becoming a Head Coach at the collegiate level is a fascinating story and showcases the commitment and patience needed to reach the elite levels.

Michael joins host Nick Webster on this episode of “The Bear & the Ball” to discuss his journey and what it takes to succeed in coaching college soccer.

In Michael’s words:

“I am an innovative and engaging soccer coach who made the transition into coaching following a professional playing career. As a coach, I have performed a key role in leading university teams to National Championships wins and National Finals. Throughout my coaching career, I have cultivated supportive environments where student-athletes can flourish academically and athletically, and I have contributed to their development within soccer.

“I am a leader and mentorship figure to players and coaching colleagues. I have demonstrated proficiency in designing forward-thinking coaching programs that enable teams and players to fulfill their potential. Also contributed to the development of players who progressed to play professionally, including Rafael Baca, Craig Nitti, Ryan Felix, Bobby Burling, Paul Blanchette, Matt Kovar, Arturo Torres, and Andrea Mururagi.”
