Anaheim, CA (Tuesday, February 18, 2025) – Cal South, the official youth and adult state soccer association of Southern California, is pleased to announce its board leadership for the 2025-26 calendar year.

At the Cal South Board of Directors Meeting held last night, February 17th, the current edition of the board – including the recently reelected Nick Webster and newly elected member, Juan Guzman Jr. – gathered to determine amongst themselves which board members will hold the positions of Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary for the current year.

Nick Webster was selected to serve as Chair of the Cal South board for another year. Webster, who has held this position since 2023, brings over 30 years of experience in the Southern California soccer scene and remains committed to fostering the growth of soccer within the region.

“I am deeply honored to continue serving as Chair of Cal South,” said Webster. “Our focus remains on strengthening player development, ensuring safety, and expanding access to soccer across Southern California. We are dedicated to creating inclusive, high-quality soccer programs that benefit our entire community.”

Wade Smith was chosen to step into the Vice Chair position. Smith’s expertise and vision are expected to contribute significantly to Cal South’s ongoing mission. Alex Lee continues in his role as Treasurer, providing financial oversight and stability to the organization.

Juan Guzman Jr., who became the latest member of the Cal South board following January’s election, will take on the role of Secretary. Guzman brings valuable experience as the current Cal South State Referee Administrator and as a former FIFA and MLS referee.

The board extends its gratitude to Tamara Cantrell for her dedicated service as Secretary over the past year, and to Eric Wynalda for his contributions as Vice Chair.

“We are excited about the combination of continuity and fresh perspectives on our board,” Webster added. “Together, we will work tirelessly to enhance the soccer experience for players, coaches, and referees throughout Southern California”.

Cal South remains committed to its mission of providing leadership and support for the development of soccer in Southern California, fostering the game at all levels of play.
