The U.S Women’s National Team made history on Sunday as they clinched their fourth FIFA World Cup title in Lyon, France, their second consecutive title, after a 2-0 win over the Netherlands. Cal South congratulates the U.S Women’s National Team on their victory!

Cal South alumnae Alex Morgan and Christen Press were among the players called up for the USWNT. The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup was the third tournament of its kind for Morgan, and the second World Cup title, having won in the 2015 edition in Vancouver. Morgan was also named the Silver Boot winner, scoring a tournament total of six goals, tied in first along with fellow California native Megan Rapinoe, and England’s Ellen White.

Slammers FC alum Press also adds her second title, also being part of the 2015 squad. In this year’s edition, Press scored one goal, a crucial, opening goal against England, and added one assist to her name.

In addition to the two U.S players at the World Cup, Cal South Referee Felisha Mariscal participated in five games including one Knockout Round match. The games officiated and her duties are listed below.
