TEMECULA, CA (May 27, 2021) – Nine boys teams and eight girls teams were crowned recently as champions in the Youngers brackets of Cal South State Cup and Cal South National Cup play through the past two weekends of action.

The list of this year’s Cal South National Cup champions began over the weekend of May 15–16 at the Galway Downs Soccer Complex with Arsenal FC capturing the Boys 12U title on Saturday. The following day, So Cal Blues hoisted the Girls 13U championship trophy in victory.

The bulk of the named champions thus far – eight in total – were also decided that weekend in State Cup Presidents Division Youngers play. Teams from So Cal Blues grabbed the Girls 9U and 10U trophies, Eagles SC took the Girls 11U crown, and the Simi Valley SC Eclipse Blue topped the Girls 12U bracket. On the boys’ side, the teams that celebrated on the trophy stage were the 9U Pumas USA, 10U Total Futbol Academy, 11U Laguna United FC Gold, and 12U Legends FC West.

Also decided that weekend were three champions in the Governors Division of State Cup, with the girls of So Cal Blues taking the 10U trophy. Strikers FC North White and Autobahn SC Blue captured the Boys 9U and 10U titles respectively.

On the following weekend of May 22-23 – also at Galway Downs – the winners for the Mayors Division began collecting their championship trophies. The So Cal Blues girls and Olé SC boys came out on top in the 9U bracket, while in the 10Us, the boys of Dynamo FC Eagles and the LASC girls were victorious.

There is no play slated his coming weekend in honor of Memorial Day, but state tournament play will begin again for the weekend of June 5-6, 2021.
