Cal South, in conjunction with Presidio San Diego and San Diego Soccer Club, held the First Annual Presidio TOPSoccer Fest and training Clinic last weekend at Westview High School in San Diego. Along with Cal South, local soccer clubs like Liga MX side Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles, as well as WPSL’s San Diego Sea Lions were present to support the initiative.
The event hosted dozens of local athletes with disabilities looking for alternative ways to play the world’s game of soccer. Additionally, Cal South’s TOPSoccer Program, led by Chair Sandy Castillo, were at hand to provide top notch training for volunteers looking to become TOPSoccer Buddies and/or coaches. There is no cost for athletes and volunteers to participate in the TOPSoccer Program.
The event kicked off with the traditional group photo, and from then on, there was no stopping all of its participants as they enjoyed a day filled with fun soccer activities, as well as other activities such as dancing and face painting.
