New Election Period Is Direct Result of Recent Approval ofAmended Bylaws by Cal South Voting Membership

FULLERTON, CA (February 23, 2022) – As a result of the approval of the proposed Cal South Bylaws changes by Cal South Affiliate Member voting on Tuesday, February 21 – which include provisions for restructuring the Board of Directors – a new Nomination and Election process is to be held over the next 90 days to fill two open positions on the Board.

There had already been a Nomination and Election process underway since December 26, 2021 for several positions: President, Vice President of Adults, Secretary, Treasurer, and Commissioners for Districts 1, 2, 4, and 6. That process was officially canceled immediately upon the approval of the amended Bylaws on Tuesday. With the cancellation of the old process, the new 90-day Board Nomination and Elections process is now underway.

In the newly approved Bylaws, the Board is reduced down to seven members. There are no longer Commissioner positions for each Cal South District, and all Director positions will no longer have an official elected title. Any Board Members still within their term will fully serve until their term completes in 2023. With the reduction in Board roles, there will now only be two available positions up for nomination and election in this new 90-day period.
