The Cal South Referee Program is pleased to announce that FIFA/MLS Assistant Referees Frank and Ian Anderson will be instructing at the next Center of Referee Education (CORE) course on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Ventura College from 7:00-9:00pm. [NOTE: The event was originally scheduled for this past Monday, Oct. 25, but was rescheduled due to rain.]

The Anderson twins have become well-known for their officiating skills in Major League Soccer, with each working in well over 240+ games as Assistant Referees.

Frank has also worked as an AR at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, the Concacaf Gold Cup in both 2019 and 2021, the MLS All-Star Game in 2016, the MLS Cup in 2016, and the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in 2015.

Ian has also worked as an AR at the Concacaf Gold Cup in 2019, the MLS Cup in 2018, the MLS All-Star Game in both 2012 and 2021, and the U.S. Open Cup Final in 2015.

Additionally, both brothers have won the MLS Assistant Referee of the Year Award; Ian in 2012, and Frank in 2016. The Anderson twins were born and raised in Santa Barbara and started officiating for Cal South through our Referee Mentor Program.

Center of Referee Education (CORE) is a program established by the Cal South State Referee Committee (SRC). It is open to all USSF-certified referees. At these sessions, top level instructors hold physical fitness, field drills, and classroom sessions.
