Men’s Over 30 Final- RECAP

Mesoamerica and LA Villa FC were crowned the 2019 Cal South Adult State Cup Premier Division Champions in two very exciting games last Saturday at Citrus College. Real Sociedad became the Men’s Over 30 Champion after defeating the 2018 Season Winner, Elite SC.

LA Villa FC clinched their second Adult State Cup Women’s Premier Division Championship, defeating their 2018 foe and winner, Elite SC. LA Villa took it upon themselves to open up the scoring sheet early on, finalizing the first half with a four-goal lead. Elite SC made an attempt to make a comeback as they scored their lone goal in the second half, but LA Villa would come back to knock in two more goals for the 6-1 final.

After scoring a hat trick for LA Villa, Nayeli Diaz was named the Championship Game Most Valuable Player, while her teammates Adriana Maldonado won the Golden Glove, and Dyanne Valdez took home the Golden Boot Award.

CDA Slammers Women finished as the Third Place team at Mt. San Antonio College.

Later that evening, Mesoamerica would claim their first Adult State Cup Men’s Premier Division title as they defeated the 2018 Champion, Chula Vista FC. In less than 15 minutes, Mesoamerica’s Javier Castro notched the opening goal, but their joy was short-lived when Chula Vista’s Ernesto Espinoza scored shortly after. Before the end of the first half, Castro scored his second goal to put Mesoamerica up 2-1 before the half. Chula Vista put up a fight in the second half, leading in the attack, but was unable to knock in the ball and shake up the ultimate 2-1 score.

As winners, Mesoamerica took home the $32,000 cash prize, but both teams have advanced to the USASA Region IV Amateur Cup. Castro was named the Championship Game MVP, while Mesoamerica’s Miguel Jose Marin was awarded the Golden Glove Award. Kern County Mustangs’s Lester Ruiz won the Tournament’s Golden Boot.

With pride at stake, Sahagun defeated Cali Gators FC 3-2 in the Third-Place match, taking home $2,500 and $1,000, respectively.

Over at SilverLakes Park, Real Sociedad defeated the 2018 Men’s Over 30 Champion Elite SC. With a sole penalty kick in the first half of the match, Real Sociedad clinched their first-ever Cal South Adult State Cup Men’s Over 30 Championship.

Outbreak claimed the Third Place of their Division, as well as the $1,000 cash prize.

On Saturday, May 4, Buena Park FC and Chula Vista FC 23U will face off for the Men’s First Division Championship at 8:00pm at SilverLakes Park’s Field 1. Before the match, Condor Cali FC and Finest City Football will square off in the Third Place Match that starts at 5:30 pm.
