Ian Anderson, along with his twin brother Frank, have become well-known for their officiating skills in Major League Soccer, with each working in well over 240+ games as Assistant Referees. Ian has also worked the Concacaf Gold Cup in 2019, the MLS Cup in 2018, the MLS All-Star Game in both 2012 and 2021, and the U.S. Open Cup Final in 2015. Additionally, Ian won the MLS Assistant Referee of the Year Award in 2012. The Anderson twins were born and raised in Santa Barbara and started officiating for Cal South through our Referee Mentor Program.

Center of Referee Education (CORE) [formerly known as RPD] is a program established by the Cal South State Referee Committee (SRC) which is open to all USSF-certified referees. At these sessions, top level instructors hold physical fitness, field drills, and classroom sessions.

All Cal South referees are invited to attend any of our CORE In-Person training sessions if they are seeking to fast-track their development and advancement.
