Twenty California teams are moving on to the 2019 US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals Semifinals after a successful run through the Quarterfinals. After a much-needed day off, the Quarterfinal Round took place on Friday at the Simplot Sports Complex in Boise, Idaho. The Semifinal Round will be played on Sunday.
In the Girls 2005/14U Quarterfinal between Pateadores LA and Broomfield Blast SC of Colorado, the match’s intensity would transfer until the round of penalty kicks. Despite missing their first penalty kick, Pateadores was able to come back for the ultimate 3-2 win, and with that, secure their ticket into the Semifinal.
Oceanside Breakers (15UB) didn’t give up and turned the game around to clinch a semifinal spot in their match against Washington’s Three Rivers SC. After going down 2-0 at the half, Oceanside came back and knocked in a goal early in the second half. However, the San Diego County team continued fighting back and took the game 3-2.
