As the second day of the 2019 US Youth Soccer National Championships continued, seven Cal South teams began mapping out their fate in this year’s tournament. With jet lag and time difference kicking in, Cal South earned a 2-1-4 (W-L-T) record on the second day of action. Albion SC (13UG) signed their ticket into the Championship final after earning a 1-0 win over the Michigan Jaguars on the second day of play. The San Diego-based team will dispute the coveted trophy against a rival yet to be confirmed after Thursday’s play. The standings, however, are not in favor of Rebels SC (13UB), who after taking their second loss, will miss out on the final on Friday.
Legends FC (17UG) are on a positive track to moving on Saturday’s Semifinals, taking a 1-1 tie against a tough Sunrise Sting from Florida. Thursday’s games will determine their final position in the standings.
FC Golden State (19UB) earned a 3-2 win over Michigan’s Kingdom SC, placing them in the fight for a National Championship. The Pasadena-based team will have to win their match on Thursday in order to move on as the second-place team.
