The 2019 US Youth Soccer National Championships kicked off at Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex on Tuesday, with seven Cal South teams taking the field for the first time in Kansas. The first day of play was welcomed with accommodating weather for soccer in Overland Park, with Cal South teams completing the day with a 2-3-2 (W-L-T) record. Far West Regional Champions Albion SC (13UG) and Legends FC (17UG) both earned wins on the first day of play. Both Albion and Rebels SC (13UB) have a tough task in the coming days, with the top two teams heading straight to finals after Thursday’s play.
