Cal South would like to congratulate Albion SC on clinching the US Youth Soccer National Championship and thank them for the video posted above.
Over 10,000 teams train all year for the US Youth Soccer Cup, but Albion SC earned it in 2019, the first US Youth Soccer National Championship for the club, and the third consecutive 13 and Under Girls National Champion for Cal South.
It was a battle all throughout the season to win the coveted trophy. After missing out on clinching the 2018-2019 California Regional League Season, falling in the Semifinal to eventual champion Legends FC, the team led by coach Mike Whittaker prepared for the Cal South National Cup, determined to earn their berth into the 2019 US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals in Boise, Idaho.
Their National Cup campaign would be different for Albion, leaving CRL Champions Legends FC in the Semifinal this time, and earning a strong 4-1 win over San Diego Surf in the Championship match, giving them their berth to Regionals. Albion was determined to finish up top, sweeping through the Regionals group phase, defeating San Diego Surf once again in the Quarterfinals, and then Legends FC, once again, in the Championship final in penalty kicks. In Overland Park, Albion finished number one in the group phase and in the country after defeating the Michigan Jaguars 1-0 in the National Championship Final.
Cal South will be visiting Albion in late August for a video Championship Profile. Stay tuned for more on Albion SC!
