Cal South to Host US Youth Soccer West Region ODP Camp
July 4–17, 2021 in Ojai, CA | 2005 Girls – 2006 Girls – 2006 Boys

FULLERTON, Calif. (June 25, 2021) – The California State Soccer Association – South (Cal South) today officially announced that the organization will proudly host the 2021 US Youth Soccer West Region ODP (Olympic Development Program) Camp in July.

The US Youth Soccer West Region ODP Camp will be held in Ojai, CA from July 4-17, 2021, and will feature ODP teams from 12 of the 13 states that make up US Youth Soccer’s West Region: Alaska, California (Cal South and Cal North), Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Cal South will send three teams to the West Region ODP Camp, featuring players who have been scouted, identified, and trained through Cal South’s Pro+ ODP program. The three Cal South teams represent the 2005 Girls, 2006 Girls, and 2006 Boys age groups.

“It’s amazing that we have this opportunity to represent Cal South at the West Region ODP Camp with these three teams of highly talented players,” said Cal South Technical Director, Steve Hoffman. “Cal South Pro+ ODP continues to identify and train players of a very high caliber, and our long history of players being selected to Regional and National pools and teams speaks to the success of our program. Beyond that, our players are sure to have a fantastic time at the event.”

During each day of the West Region ODP Camp, teams will take part in training sessions and in playing matches against teams from other states. All players attending the West Region ODP Camp will challenge each other for selection to the US Youth Soccer West Region Player Pools, which is the next step toward selection to the US National Team Pools. Players selected to the US Youth Soccer West Region Player Pools would next converge in Florida in November 2021, after which selected players would take part in a National Training event to be held from January 20-25, 2022.
