FULLERTON, Calif. (Wednesday, February 28, 2018) – Cal South announced it will be hosting the Pacific Coast Invitational, an Olympic Development Program (ODP) showcase for the 2001, 2002 and 2003 age groups. The Pacific Coast Invitational will be held March 2-4, 2018 at the SilverLakes Complex in Norco.
In addition to Cal South, three other US Youth Soccer state associations – Cal North, Florida and Eastern Pennsylvania – will be participating, for a total of 16 ODP teams taking part. The Pacific Coast Invitational is expected to display some incredible competition on the pitch by many of the best, elite 15U-17U players in the game. In addition, Cal South’s Oxnard PAL 2001 team will be competing at the Invitational as well.
Through the weekend, college scouts from Cal State Fullerton, UC Riverside, UC Irvine and Loyola Marymount University, among others, will be in attendance.
“We want to be sure it is very worthwhile and special event for the players taking part,” said Cal South Director of Coaching and Player Development Steve Hoffman. “The Invitational will give these scouts a closer look at a smaller group of players than at the regional camp level.”
