The 42nd Annual Cal South State Cup kicked off last Saturday throughout the southland – hosting the largest youth soccer tournament in the country at SilverLakes Park in Norco, San Bernardino Soccer Complex, Ryan Park in Escondido, and Galway Downs in Temecula. The Mayors, Governors and Presidents Divisions Boys & Girls 2010 and 2011 were the only age groups to have activity in State Cup.

It was like the first day of school as parents dropped of their players ahead of their first games in the tournament. Cheers erupted from the sidelines as each goal was scored, and as the games went by, teams began earning their ticket into the next stage of the tournament.  The Boys & Girls 2010 and 2011 age groups are scheduled to play for the championship on February 9 – weather permitting.

With new age groups beginning each weekend, the tournament is scheduled to run until late April with the 2007 to 2002 age groups earning their ticket to the 2020 US Youth Soccer Far West Presidents Cup Championships.
