FULLERTON, Calif. (July 21, 2021) – Cal South announced today an initiative to create a new Youth Advisory Council composed of youth soccer players from within the Cal South membership who are interested in aiding the organization by providing guidance on critical issues in the modern soccer landscape.

Cal South recently drafted a Mission Statement for the proposed Youth Advisory Council, which reads: “The mission of the Cal South Youth Advisory Council is to provide a platform from which young athletes may share their vision for the growth and development of programs within Cal South to ensure relevance and sustainability into the future. The appointed council members will lend Cal South’s leadership a youthful viewpoint, providing guidance and commentary on a variety of critical issues – including diversity, equity, and inclusion – across the membership. Their input will assist Cal South in the development of its leaders into the future and continue the desired goal of making soccer the preeminent sport in our market.”

“The Cal South Board is very pleased to see this youth council being established,” said Cal South Vice-President of Youth Soccer, Anthony Pisicoli. “This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the people we are here to serve. We look forward to discussing and implementing the Youth Advisory Council’s innovative ideas to help us make the game more fun, safe and productive for all of our members.”

Anthony Pisicoli will serve as the chair of the proposed council, which will consist of ten selected members who will meet quarterly to discuss trending issues and develop possible solutions. Cal South will announce more details regarding the selection process at a nearby future date.
