Cal South added two new ODP National Championship trophies to its case after the 2000 Girls and 2001 Boys had a successful run in the US Youth Soccer ODP Championships in Phoenix’s Reach 11 Sports Complex over the weekend. The Cal South 2000 Girls closed their ODP career with two consecutive championships.
The 2001 Girls also moved on to the final championship match, but finished as finalists after falling 4-1 to Florida.
The competition kicked off on Friday with a knockout Semifinal match between teams. The 2001 Girls defeated their New York West counterparts 3-0, while the 2001 Boys came away with a 4-1 win over Florida, and the 2000 Girls finished off the day with a 6-0 win over Virginia.
Moving on to the finals, the competition was fierce, but the 2001 Boys came away with the championship with a 3-0 win over Minnesota. The 2000 Girls routed their Florida counterparts with a 6-0 victory.
With their wins, Cal South now adds a total of 36 ODP National Championships.
