2022 National Cup Closes with Crowning of 19U Champions

Temecula, CA (UPDATED May 18, 2022)– The final two champions were crowned at the 2022 Cal South National Cup this past weekend, May 14-15 at the San Bernardino Soccer Complex. Finals matches were held for both the boys’ and girls’ teams in the 19U age bracket, completing play for Cal South National Cup for the year.

Downtown Los Angeles SC defeated CalElite SC 2-1 to capture the Girls’ 19U title on Saturday, May 14th. The next day, Santa Barbara SC topped P2KS Valley FC by the score of 4-3 to take the trophy in Sunday’s Boys’ 19U trophy.

The next step for the championship teams in the 13U through 19U brackets of Cal South National Cup will be competing at the 2022 US Youth Soccer Far West Regional Championships, which take place June 20-26 in Boise, Idaho. The event will feature boys’ and girls’ teams in the 13U through 19U age groups who will compete for a regional championship, with the winners securing a spot at the 2022 US Youth Soccer National Championships hosted at ESPN Wide World of Sports from July 19-24 in Florida. CalSouth.com will soon make an official announcement of the all of its teams that will attend the Far West Regionals.
