30TH EDITION OF CAL SOUTH STATE CUP
CLOSES ON A GRAND NOTE
12 CHAMPIONS CROWNED IN OLDERS BRACKETS

April 21, 2008 (Temecula, CA) – And suddenly, it is all over. The thirtieth edition of the Cal South State Cup capped off its anniversary year this weekend as twelve champions were crowned in its brackets for Olders teams (boys and girls U14-U19). Taking place at the John Blanche Memorial Soccer Complex in Temecula, Sunday’s round of Finals matches stood as an example of the league diversity within Cal South as twelve different clubs took home championship trophies.

Of special note were the U15 Simi Valley Chivas USA boys, who found themselves a repeat State Cup winner with their 3-2 victory over Nado Select. Simi Valley Chivas had previously won in 2007 as Under-14s. The U14 girls of Temecula United also impressed on their way to capturing their trophy, outscoring their opponents 33-0 through eight straight shutouts.

Cal South congratulates all of its champions, finalists and competing teams on their efforts and thanks them for making this thirtieth year of the Cal South State Cup a very special event indeed.
